PLEASE NOTE:ÌýThis is an in-personÌýevent. For those unable to make it, an onlineÌýPostgraduate Researcher Welcome eventÌýwill take place on the the 5th of October 2026. You are not required to attend both online and in person events. The same information will be repeated at each eventÌýsoÌýyou only need to sign up to one.Ìý
This onlineÌýPostgraduate Researcher WelcomeÌýwill give new research postgraduate students the opportunity to meet some of the staff who are there to support you throughout your degree,Ìýask questions about aspects of policy, procedures, and support available, as well as to meet and get to know some other new students.
A panel of staff from across the University who provide help and support to research postgraduates will be available to answer questions, such as:
- Provost and Associate Provosts
- Research Integrity
- Registry
- Postgraduate Student RepresentativesÌý
- Centre for Educational Enhancement and DevelopmentÌý (CEED)
- Careers Centre
- Student Advice and Support (ASC)

The event will open with a welcome from the Provost and some information from key members of staff. You will then be broken into small groups and given the opportunity to hear from support staff across the University. After an introduction from each speaker, there will be an opportunity to ask questions.Ìý
