I take this kind of talk to assume that situations are frameworks for making sense of attitudes and actions that may vary relative to persons.  The purpose of this paper is to propose an account of situations that encompasses both individual situations (the situations of individual persons) and joint situations (the joint situations of two or more persons). I propose that individual situations are maximal orientated facts determined by the ways things are qualified relative to a particular person. Joint situations combine the situations of two or more persons by suppressing conflicting qualifications. All joint situations are unified in that they are logically consistent. But different joint situations may retain more of less of the meaning-endowing and action-guiding structure of individual situations. Only joint situations which retain significant situating structure embody a unified interpersonal orientation.
