The Global Office at the University of St Andrews offers two scholarships for inbound study abroad and exchange students.
The Inbound Study Abroad Scholarship provides several awards of up to £4,000, which must be used towards either university accommodation or tuition fees.
Launching ahead of the 2026/27 academic year, the Patti Schmid Scholarship offers £2,000 per semester, or £4,000 for a full academic year, to one inbound study abroad or exchange student. This scholarship seeks to honour Patti Schmid’s legacy by supporting students undertaking a semester or year-long study abroad experience at 58³Ô¹Ï. Awarded on the basis of financial need, it enables recipients to pursue similarly transformative opportunities while reflecting the values that defined Patti’s life, including curiosity, a zest for life, a love of learning, and a commitment to cultural understanding. The Patti Schmid Scholarship will open for applications at a later date. We encourage students to check the scholarship application portal and follow our Instagram channel to stay informed of announcements.
