Module description

This module allows students to take their learning of Arabic into their own hands by engaging with the language creatively. Using the work of well-known Arab authors as a model, the students will create their own pieces of poetry, short story, (flash) fiction, and autobiography. Classes will mostly take the form of workshops during which students will write, share drafts of their work in progress, and receive feedback from the tutor and their peers, allowing them to re-work and improve pieces throughout the semester. This will help students gain more critical awareness of their own work and that of others, and will enhance their reading and creative writing skills in Arabic.
