Module description
This module is aimed at students who are taking Latin or Greek language classes as part of the MLitt in Classics. It shares seminars with CL5011 but the assessment requirements and credit load are reduced. Through a series of focused case-studies, this module will introduce students to a range of areas of current research in ancient Greek history and enable them to design their own short research project under the guidance of an individual supervisor. The precise range of topics covered changes each year, but typical topics might include historiography; magic, religion and belief; gender; ecology; the polis in the Hellenistic world; and many others that reflect the ever-changing face of ancient history.
