The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. The number of credits associated with a module gives an indication of the amount of learning effort required by the learner. Module description

This module continues on from CN2021 and CN2022. Students will continue to acquire Chinese characters and build vocabulary while studying more complex literary and audiovisual texts and honing their spoken language skills.

Intended learning outcomes

  • By the end of this module students will be able to recognise and write c. 1300 characters, with a vocabulary of around 3600 words.
  • Students will be able to clearly express and comprehend ideas and opinions whilst conversing on a range of topics.
  • Students will be able to write structured, clearly argued essays, and will be able to read longer complex texts from a variety of authentic Chinese sources.
