Module description

This module provides students with essential writing skills for postgraduate research in Divinity. It covers key areas of academic writing, including crafting clear arguments, structuring essays or research projects, and engaging scholarly sources effectively. Students will learn to navigate the writing process, refine their academic writing, and develop proficiency in referencing and avoiding plagiarism. Special attention is given to writing with precision and clarity. The module also includes a week-long writing bootcamp, available both online and in-person, offering intensive support. Learning is enhanced through online lectures, interactive discussions, writing practice, and personalised feedback.

Weekly contact

1 live seminar on Microsoft Teams for topic 11, offered twice on the same day (morning and evening) to account for time zones; and approx. 20 hours devoted to an in-person and synchronous online writing bootcamp week, where students will engage in focused writing activities.
