Module description
The objective of the module is language learning and cultural familiarisation through a work placement in a German-speaking country. Placements will be as Language Assistants in schools or on other assignments approved by the department. Formal learning and assessment will occur across both semesters and will be through: (i) Two short written assignments totalling 500 words. (ii) an essay of 2500 words in German on a topic chosen in consultation with the module co-ordinator. (iiI) a 10-minute oral exam in German to be sat upon the student's return to 58勛圖 after the WIYA year, during which the year abroad experience will be presented and discussed.

IN TAKING THIS MODULE YOU MUST HAVE ADMISSION TO A GERMAN HONOURS PROGRAMME WITH INTEGRATED YEAR ABROAD.

THIS IS A WORK PLACEMENT MODULE. IN TAKING THIS MODULE YOU MUST NOT BE ON A UNIVERSITY PLACEMENT OR STUDY ABROAD EXCHANGE.
