Module description
This module investigates whether psychology is a science. It does this through introducing the scientific method and the Cycle of Enquiry, and then uses material from various areas of psychology to evaluate it. The course will end with a more detailed look at the psychology of individual differences, and the various methodologies that are used to develop nomothetic theories of personality and intelligence.

Intended learning outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of topic-specific psychological theories and evidence. (SCQF 6.1)
- Demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate theories and psychological research by highlighting limitations of classical experiments/studies related to development, learning and social psychology. (SCQF 6.2 & 6.3)
