Module description
This module will look at the role that the US played in Southeast Asia between 1945 and 1975 with a particular focus on the first and second Indochinese Wars. The module will not only look at the US role in these conflict but will also situate the conflicts in a wider narrative of the global Cold War. The module will look at the military and diplomatic aspects of these conflicts, as well as, the extent to which they were influenced by and influenced US domestic politics with a particular emphasis on McCarthyism and the later Anti War Movement between 1965 and 1973.
