Module description
This module will look at a range of novels published between the early twentieth century and the present day that chart representations of and reactions to the concept of modernity. All the novels on the module engage with other creative forms (cinema, painting, photography) in their exploration of modern narrative innovation and cultural change. The novels studied examine topics such as the city, changing conceptions of gender and identity, and transnational mobility.
