Research areas
I manage the BSRC mass spectrometry core facility, which supports the research of many of the researchers within the Biomedical Sciences Research Complex, the University of 58³Ô¹Ï, and many other Universities in the UK. I am the first point of contact for collaborations, and will advise on experiment design and assist with interpretation of results.
The facility is mainly Proteomics based, specialising in 2 main areas:
Protein Identification - From simple gel band ID to identification of all proteins in a complex pullodwn mixture. Confirmation of post-translational modifications, spin labelling, chemical crosslinks, point mutations, truncations, all aspects of protein identification are supported. Measurement of intact protein mass is also undertaken, including membrane proteins.
Protein Quantitation - Relative protein quantitation by both iTRAQ and SWATH. Global protein quantitation upon exposure to stress.
