Research areas

Dr. Xiangling Yue is currently a Rutherford Fellow at the School of Chemistry, University of 58³Ô¹Ï. Her research interest lies in energy materials and engineering in solid oxide cells used for fuel cells, CO₂ electrolysis, and green hydrogen production, cell manufacture, ceramic processing, and advanced characterisation techniques. ÌýHer current project is focusing on exploring exsolution materials in solid oxide cells (SOCs), particularly the generation and optimisation of nanomaterials through high temperature electrolysis operations.

She obtained a M. Eng. from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (DICP, CAS) in 2009, with a thesis entitled ‘Study of scandium doped (La, Sr)MnO₃ cathode materials for intermediate temperature-solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFCs)’. In 2014, She obtained a Ph.D with a thesis entitled ‘The Development of Alternative Cathodes for High Temperature Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells’, under the supervision of Prof John Irvine. She then continued work with Prof. Irvine as a PDRA for a few years, before applying the EPSRC UKRI Innovation Fellowship in 2018 to start her independent research.
