Research areas

I work on ancient Greek and Roman philosophy. I have written two monographs, one about conversation and thought 鈥� especially thought as internal dialogue 鈥� in Plato,听the other about death and immortality in Greek and Roman philosophy. I co-edit the journal Phronesis and the Cambridge University Press series听听I have also translated two Platonic dialogues (with David Sedley) and edited a collection of papers on Plato and Stoicism.
