Biography
I hold a PhD in Pharmaceutical Microbiology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. I am a microbiologist with an excellent track record and over 10 years’ experience on antimicrobial resistance and infectious diseases. I am Marie-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow and also serves as an advisory member for the World Health Organization Foodborne Diseases Epidemiology Reference Group.
I'm on a mission to ensure every woman giving birth sees her child grow, and every child has a chance at a healthy life. Leveraging my expertise in microbiology, I fight against preventable maternal and neonatal suffering, ensuring that the journey of childbirth and life in Africa is embraced as a joy, not a challenge.
I am guided by the belief that every woman giving birth deserves the right to see her child grow and similarly, each child deserves the right to live and to have a healthy life.
Research areas
My research work spans the epidemiology, transmission, and evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacteria across the One Health interfaces, with a particular focus on mothers and neonates in Africa. I provided instrumental knowledge to improve food safety in Cameroon and South Africa.
